Game Setting
Game Synopsis
William McGeldrey
This game is set on an alternate Earth, in which many technological advances never happened, and the world remains in the Medieval Era. It is a Third-person Action-RPG that follows a 20 year old man named William McGeldrey, who is trying to gain power and honour for him and his family, by joining the ranks of the King’s Army.
The gameplay is split between fighting on the battlefield and internal politics within the kingdom. The more they are involved in fighting and politics, the likelier it will be that they rise in the ranks of the army.
Fighting
In this game mode, you can fight on the frontlines, which, if you survive uninjured, can increase the chances of getting promotions. You can also choose to train, either in the capital, or inside a war camp. As you train, the weapons you use can swing faster, hit harder, and generally do more damage to enemies on the battlefield. When you train you won’t gain any promotions. It is possible to be wounded on the battlefield, and if you are, you cannot participate in any battles or council meetings (if you are a general).
Internal Politics
In this game mode, you can bribe or kill your way up the ranks, or you can improve relations with your superiors to increase the chances of you promoting. Killing and bribing cost substantial amounts of money, but are much more effective than any ‘legal’ options. Once you reach the rank of General, you will be allowed to enter the King’s Council, and vote for different tactics and war targets (castles/towns).
